Ingredients
- 500g kunafa dough
- 100g unsalted butter (melted)
- 250g ricotta cheese
- 250g shredded mozzarella cheese
- 200g granulated sugar
- 250ml water
- 1 tsp rose water or orange blossom water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish with melted butter.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta and mozzarella until well combined.
- Layer half the kunafa dough in the baking dish, drizzle with butter, then add the cheese mixture.
- Top with remaining dough and pour more melted butter on top.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare the syrup by boiling sugar and water for about 10 minutes; then add rose water.
- Once baked, drizzle syrup over warm kunafa and let it soak for at least 15 minutes before serving.
