Ingredients
- 9 no-boil lasagna noodles
- 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese (whole milk)
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 1 lb ground beef or sausage (lean)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup fresh spinach or basil (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Brown the ground beef or sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and set aside.
- 2. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with 1 beaten egg, salt, pepper, and half of the grated Parmesan until smooth.
- 3. Layer ingredients in the crockpot: start with marinara sauce, then uncooked noodles (breaking them if needed), followed by meat mixture, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella.
- 4. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used or the crockpot is full—aim for three layers.
- 5. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours until noodles are tender.
- 6. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top; cover for an additional 10 minutes until melted.
